- Product: Kisspeptin-10 (decapeptide, C-terminal kisspeptin fragment)
Research context
Kisspeptin-10 is a decapeptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of the kisspeptin family of peptides, which are products of the KISS1 gene. Kotani and colleagues (2001) and Ohtaki and colleagues (2001) independently reported that kisspeptins are the natural ligands of the orphan receptor GPR54, now called KISS1R. In laboratory work, kisspeptin-10 is used to examine KISS1R signalling in cell-based assays and animal models of neuroendocrine regulation. Published findings describe receptor biology and experimental systems only and are not evidence of effects in people. Researchers should follow their own validated protocol for solvent choice, assay conditions and handling, and review the batch certificate of analysis before use.
