Specifications
- Product: AOD-9604 (modified C-terminal fragment of human growth hormone)
Research context
AOD-9604 is a synthetic peptide based on a modified C-terminal fragment of human growth hormone. Heffernan and colleagues (2001) compared it with full-length growth hormone in obese mice, reporting effects on fat oxidation and body weight gain in that animal model. A companion study examined lipid metabolism in obese mice and in mice lacking the beta-3 adrenergic receptor. These are preclinical findings from animal models and are not evidence of effects in people. In laboratory work the peptide is examined in lipid metabolism and adipocyte signalling assays. Researchers should follow their own validated protocol for solvent choice, assay conditions and handling, and review the batch certificate of analysis before use.
